In Natural records Ⅰ, cyanotype prints were created in the dark north of Iceland. In Ólafjördur, with limited sunlight, it was challenging to get a proper exposure using the cyanotype method. Prints were left outside for sunlight for multiple days, and often had to overcome the challenging winter weather, weathering snow storms and harsh winds. The subjects of the prints, were natural materials found in the town, like leaves and branches, fish bones, or a sheep jaw. The sunlight itself also becomes a strong subject, where each print is a log of the hours received that day.
